I have health insurance, do I need Bike Travel Insurance?
Generally the answer is YES, as most health insurance plans offer limited medical
coverage outside the state you live and offer no coverage when you travel out of
country. You should reference your policy's coverage area to help you assess your
need. Bike Travel Insurance is an additional coverage product, designed to pick
up where you other insurance leaves off, so even if you have some coverage, you
usually could benefit from having more protection.

I have home owners insurance, do I need Bike Travel Insurance?
Generally the answer is YES for the two types of insurance combined offer better
property coverage. Home owners is property insurance, it protects your property
from normal perils: loss, damage, theft and often has a deductible around $500.
Generally, if your house is worth 100K, the value of your homeowners policy is 50%
of that, so you have 50K of property coverage on premise. Away from home, most policies
drop property coverage to 10% of the policy amount, in this example, 10% of 50K
would equal 5K of off premise property coverage. The Bike Travel Insurance that
we sell adds another $2500 of equipment coverage for things that you take with you
on your trip. Bike Travel Insurance is an additional coverage product, designed
to pick up where you other insurance leaves off, so even if you have some coverage,
you usually could benefit from having more protection.
