Bill Alcorn, Founder
Bill Alcorn
An explorer by nature and a cyclist through and through Bill Alcorn's talents and passions combine in BikeFlights. As a kid riding and racing BMX near his home outside Pittsburgh, Bill could often be found with his face pressed to the glass cases at Scholl's Bike Shop and developed an admiration for fine bicycles that he has certainly not outgrown as today he is an avid rider of handbuilt bicycles of all types. While in college Bill began to race on the road for Penn State Cycling. Also while in college Bill bought his first mountain bike and soon was racing those as well-- first for Greenlees Mountain Bikes then Team Grove Innovations. He loved the freedom to choose his own path-- his own ride. And so began an adult life in which the path he chose was very often on his bike.

Bill began a career at Apple Computers as a multimedia designer where he designed and tested Apple Interactive Music Toolkit to make enhanced music CDs. He commuted daily carrying a 40lb 40GB hard drive in his messenger bag. While at Apple he made two important cycling discoveries as well- cross racing and the need for good brakes on long coastal range descents.

Following his return to Pennsylvania, Bill helped to found eTravCo where he was Senior Vice President of Technology and Marketing Services. At eTravCo he formulated and implemented the original online strategy which eventually grew to encompass 242 websites for consumers and more than 1000 travel agents. After the company restructured Bill left to develop BikeFlights and spend more time with his three loves-- his bike, his wife, and his little girl on the way.

Bill's experience in cycling, travel, and technology mesh beautifully in BikeFlights and as a cyclist who has traveled for everything from epic mountain bike races to classic French brevets - he rode Paris Brest Paris twice - Bill truly understands how to make BikeFlights work for you.

Richard O'Neil, Inside Sales
Richard O'Neil
Rich's adventurous spirit was present from his birth at Camp Pendleton through his childhood farm in West Virginia and into his newest adventure- Bike Flights.

A bike industry insider for years Rich has been riding almost nonstop since 1989 when he started mountain biking around Pittsburgh with a group from a bike shop called Dirty Harry's. That is where his off-road adventures began; night rides, log jumps, wet and muddy terrain, roots and rocks...he quickly learned to love them all. Mechanically inclined, organized, and reliable Rich ran tech support for local races like The Thrift Drug Classic and 24 Hours of Canaan. He didn't forget his roots though, and raced for Dirty Harry's which he still calls the best local shop in the world.

Rich then started collaborating with Cannondale to prototype the development of their cyclocross bike as well as parts, clothing, and product testing. This eventually lead to Rich racing for Cannondale on a regional team. Speed was key so Rich worked as a bicycle messenger for Jet Messenger for a while literally living it up in the fast lane.

Rich then found his way out west to Santa Barbara and Chris King Components where he worked at first in inside sales and later as the Tech Supervisor. After a while Rich moved back east to handle pro build for Speedgoat Bicycles. Trek / Gary Fisher then gave Rich an opportunity with a tech position. Giant Bicycles followed that as Rich helped to implement the Giant Demo Program and served as a nationwide spokesperson for the company. Like we said- industry insider!

Rich has had the honor to travel all across the country and ride the best trails with the locals along the way and it is too hard for him to choose a favorite trail -- other than the one he's on.
