The Garmin Dirty Kanza is an ultra-endurance bicycling challenge, held on the gravel roads through the Flint Hills region of east-central Kansas. The event will occur on Saturday, June 1, 2019, starting in front of the historic Granada Theatre in downtown Emporia, Kansas.
What began in 2006 as little more than a group ride of 34 gravel enthusiasts has become the event that defines an industry and the one by which all other gravel events are measured. Now owned and produced by Life Time, Inc., Dirty Kanza is no longer just a weekend event; it encompasses six different races—the marquee 200-miler, plus 25-, 50-, 100- and the completely unsupported DKXL 350-miler as well as a high school race. Racers making the trek to Emporia a week's worth of activities will enjoy supporting the event, attending the largest finish line party in gravel, listening to panel discussions and checking out cycling products in the ever expanding All Things Gravel Expo. No other gravel event can match the excitement that surrounds the renowned Dirty Kanza.
We encourage all riders, spectators and support crews to come out early for the All Things Gravel Expo, which will take place on May 30-31 in downtown Emporia, Kansas. The expo is a great opportunity to check out the industry leaders in bikes, wheels, gear and "All Things Gravel!"
